Duisburg, 26.09.2023. CWS Fire Safety GmbH, a full-range supplier of fire protection and security technology, is expanding its market position by acquiring the Wellmann Sicherheitstechnik group of companies. As of October 2023, the safety technology group with headquarters in Hamminkeln will become part of CWS Fire Safety.
Strengthening the position in North Rhine-Westphalia
Wellmann Sicherheitstechnik is a medium-sized company with three locations in North Rhine-Westphalia. With around 130 employees, Wellmann is one of the leading suppliers of security technology.
For CWS Fire Safety, this acquisition is the largest in the company's history and an important milestone in its development into Europe's leading provider of preventive fire protection and safety technology.
"Through the acquisition of IGS from Hagen, we have already successfully entered the security technology sector in 2021. Wellmann now adds important areas to our experience and knowledge - and is strongly positioned in NRW with its three locations in Hamminkeln near Wesel, Nordwalde near Münster and Hilden near Düsseldorf," says Dr Ulrich Schild, Managing Director of CWS Fire Safety GmbH.

Thanks to the acquisition, CWS Fire Safety will be strengthened by qualified employees and will also have a new head of security technology in Wilhelm Wellmann, the founder, who will remain with the company. "I am delighted that this partnership is coming about and that we can continue the family spirit of our company within CWS Fire Safety," says Wilhelm Wellmann.
"Our customers will continue to be able to turn to their familiar contact persons, but will now also receive further fire protection solutions through the integration into CWS Fire Safety," he adds.

The expansion of CWS Fire Safety GmbH with the Wellmann safety technology group continues the strong growth of the company, which is only 5 years old. The portfolio is strengthened by fire alarm systems, voice alarms, burglar alarm systems, video surveillance systems and other security technology systems. Through the combination of fire protection and security technology, people and material assets in the building are optimally protected.
