EcoVadis: Assessment of Sustainable Action
EcoVadis provides companies worldwide with reliable sustainability ratings to enable them to become more sustainable. EcoVadis has assessed how well companies from over 200 industries and in over 160 countries are dealing with sustainability management. 21 criteria from the following subject areas are analysed.

- Ethics
- Sustainable procurement
Based on the points and ratings awarded, business partners can quickly see whether, for example, suppliers and purchasers fit into their company's sustainable strategy.
Platinum for CWS
With its Platinum rating for 2020, CWS is in the top one per cent of companies evaluated by EcoVadis; this is confirmation that the terms "resource-saving" and "environmentally friendly" are second nature to us. By the way, we receive this EcoVadis rating every year.
The supply chain
Sustainable from top to bottom
CWS offers a complete service that helps take a lot of work off your hands. A large number of employees, external partners, and suppliers are involved in implementing our all-round solutions. CWS takes responsibility for the supply chain and ensures that all parties involved pull together. Our sustainability values also extend to the supply chain, where we monitor our suppliers' compliance with international social and labour standards.
The Blue Engel: The trustworthy environmental label
The Blue Engel was created by the German government in 1978 and is one of the most well-known labels for environmentally friendly products. Since then it has been a great help to many consumers when making their purchasing decisions.
CWS towel dispensers are one of our main products and are a good example of how resource-saving recycling management can work. Our towel dispensers have rightly earned the Blue Engel certification because they help you to conserve resources and avoid waste. After all, each towel roll is reusable and can be washed around 100 times.
Fairtrade: Fair cultivation – fair products
The Fairtrade label stands for fair social, ecological, and economic conditions during production. As a certified company, CWS pays attention to fair conditions. For example, we've made sure the cultivation of cotton for our workwear collections has been fairly produced since 2016. Sustainable trade relations are a matter of course for us. This also enables small-scale farmers to plan more securely and to receive a reliable income from stable prices
DIN-compliant, excellent hygiene
Whether in the food processing or gastronomy sector, with CWS at your side, you can be sure that all hygiene requirements are met. Our hygiene management complies with the European standard DIN EN 14065, which applies to textiles that are processed by laundry services. This risk management approach states that the laundry services must guarantee the microbiological quality of the textiles.
The Hygiene Certificate: For perfect cleanliness
Our high hygiene standards have also been recognised by the hygiene institute Berlin SearchCare, and our towel dispensers have received the hygiene certificate. This is because the dispenser technology, the preparation of the towel rolls, and the logistics surrounding the rental service meet all of the institute's hygienic and ecological requirements.
For example, the towel rolls are more hygienic than disposable paper towels because the new and used towel rolls are safely separated in the dispenser and the towel automatically retracts after each use. We also pay attention to hygiene in logistics, for example by regularly disinfecting the loading areas.
